There is bound to be a conference soon close by no matter what part of the cannabis industry is of interest to you. The best of CBD, edibles, vapes, processing equipment and all supporting businesses are soon to be on display. All within a short drive or possible train ride??
Perhaps the hottest segment of the cannabis sector is anything to do with CBD. There is talk of major retailers having CBD products on shelves within months. Mace Media CEO Celeste Miranda has developed the CBD Expo series of 2-day conferences and the next one is coming right up at the Anaheim Convention Center on September 21-22.
To give you an idea of the anticipation by exhibitors the booth space at the event has been sold out for months now. That is unheard of at any cannabis event. While you could probably commute to this event staying one night at a local hotel might make some sense. There is a lot of meeting and greeting that goes on well after the exhibit hall closes with company receptions and after events. CBD Expo will be returning to Anaheim January 25-26 in case you miss this one.
If you are anywhere close to a Metrolink station, consider the train. The run from Union Station in DTLA to Anaheim is one of the most reliable legs on Amtrak.
The Cannabis World Congress Business Expo is coming September 26-29 at the LA Convention Center. This is a B2B event focused more on the “Adult Use” side of the industry. Many attendees are trying to find their place in the industry here. On display in the Exhibit Hall are the best from edibles to vapes to processing equipment. Most all ancillary businesses will also be represented like cannabis consulting, legal and media firms.
At the same time upstairs the best and brightest in the industry will be conducting presentations and panel discussions on topics of interest. “Wellness, Women and Cannabis” with Whoopi Goldberg and CEO Maya Elizabeth is one panel sure to grab attention. Lori Ajax the California Cannabis Czar will also be speaking along with the best and brightest minds in the industry.
The National Cannabis Industry Association runs several events throughout the year and their most recent in San Jose drew 7500 attendees. By my estimation that makes this the second most important cannabis business event of the year with only the giant MJ Biz Con in Las Vegas ahead of it. It seemed that every serious player in the business was in attendance here and they have an encore coming with the California Cannabis Business Conference at the Anaheim Convention Center on October 22-23.
Last years NCIA Anaheim show was a raging success and my guess is the way things are headed in the industry this year’s edition will be equally well attended. Again, the focus is on the adult use market.
Even if one of these are your first cannabis event you will be welcome. The industry is very inclusive. Ask away at any booth but be respectful of their time especially if they have customers. Best time to hit these booths is early morning when the show opens.
