According to CNN, LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) is now allowing people to bring marijuana on the plane in their carry-on luggage.
Weed has already been legal in recent years in many U.S. states, but definitely not something that you can travel with.
With that being said, marijuana is STILL NOT legal per Federal Law. So if you are planning to exercise this in the near future, definitely get some fact straights.
- You still can’t smoke in the airport or on the plane.
- “The Los Angeles Airport Police Department will allow passengers to travel through LAX with up to 28.5 grams of marijuana and 8 grams of concentrated marijuana,” per a statement on LAX’s official website – which is in accordance with the Proposition that legalized weed in 2018.
- Also, BOTH STATES have to have legal marijuana in order to travel. California is obviously okay, but where you are travelling has to be as well otherwise its still illegal.
- (And then this one is makes things get a bit confusing) : “Planes themselves are also subject to Federal Law, which means you could still face fines or detention for carrying pot, even if Los Angeles police decline to prosecute — at minimum, you don’t want to miss your flight by getting held up.”
So yea, you CAN bring weed on a carry-on. And then again, since the carry-on goes on the plane, and the plane is subject to Federal Law (which marijuana is still illegal), you kind of have to ask if its even worth risking the confusion, right?
I am no expert, but I’m pretty sure wherever you are travelling has their own supply anyways. Puff-Puff or Pass?
Not sure if you want that smoke. Or do you? lol
