O’CannaBiz in Vancouver

By: R.W. Navis, Contributing Writer

The LA Cannabis Industry will be well represented in Vancouver, BC next week at the O’CannaBiz Conference and Expo. Tracy Ryan of CannaKids, TV Talk Show Host Abby Epstein and actress Ricki Lake will be part of the Weed the People panel with a screening of that very movie to follow. The ever-present Cheryl Shuman, CEO and Founder of the Beverly Hills Cannabis Club, will headline the Investor Breakfast.

Weed the People

“I am beyond honored to have been invited back to speak for O’Cannabiz for the 3rd time! Being there with Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein to speak about and premiere our film Weed the People is such a blessing. This group has supported the CannaKids mission and vision for so long, and I am grateful for the platform they continue to give not just me, but the cannabis industry at large” says CannaKids CEO and Cofounder Tracy Ryan.

Cannabis has been off-limits to doctors and researchers in the US for the past 80 years, but recently scientists have discovered its anti-cancer properties. Armed with only these laboratory studies, desperate parents obtain cannabis oil from underground sources to prevent childhood cancers.

From Abby Epstein and Ricki Lake (THE BUSINESS OF BEING BORN), WEED THE PEOPLE follows these families as they take their children’s survival into their own hands. Not a dry eye in the house after this movie.

Investor Breakfast

Cheryl Shuman will moderate the Investor Breakfast on Monday December 10 which includes a panel discussion with some of the brightest minds in cannabis investing. Among the panelists joining Cheryl will be John Downs, Director of Business Development at ArcView, and Sumit Mehta CEO of Mazakali.

Filling out the panel will be Corinne Doan Author, Canadian Cannabis Stock Ltd., Hamish Sutherland President and CEO, White Sheep Corp, Ranjeev Dhillon Partner, McCarthy Tetrault LLP and Tahira Rehmatullah Chief Financial Officer, MTech Acquisition Corp.

The eyes of the world are on Canada and this meeting offers participants to get a close-up glimpse of what the investment landscape looks like in a country with legalized cannabis.
