Sheriff investigators seize nearly 20,000 pot plants growing in 24 greenhouses in Adelanto

The sheriff’s Marijuana Enforcement Team has seized nearly 20,000 plants and 186 pounds of processed pot in Adelanto, and arrested 12 people.

At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department investigators served a search warrant in the 2600 block of Parkdale Road. They had received reports of marijuana cultivation in 24 large greenhouses. Along with the Desert Gang Team, investigators spent more than eight hours dismantling the cultivation and citing the suspects.

Investigators seized 19,998 marijuana plants, three firearms and a stolen truck.

The cannabis cultivation was not in compliance with California’s Medical and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act and San Bernardino County’s ordinance prohibiting illegal cultivation of marijuana.

The suspects, all Adelanto residents ranging in age from 22 to 70, were cited on charges of cultivation of cannabis of more than six plants.
